Trekking Equipment Checklist

Overview :

Prime  Nepal  Trekking is pleased to suggest our Trekking Gears Checklist for Trekking in Nepal for your reference. You can make imperative changes to our checklist as per your need and availability. If you could not get any of the following listed items in your hometown or be in a rush before your flight to the Mountains , do not feel scary! These necessary trekking equipment are available in the shops in Kathmandu Thamel.

General:
  • Duffel or Rucksack Bag: NHT provides a 70-liter duffle bag for your trekking gear. An extra bag is recommended for non-trek items left at the hotel.
  • Day Pack (20-22 Liter): For carrying daily essentials like water, snacks, and a camera.
  • Down Jacket: Provided by NHT, rated for -20°C, essential for warmth. Must be returned after the trek.
  • 4 Seasons Sleeping Bag: Provided by NHT, rated for -20°C, ensures a comfortable sleep in cold conditions. Must be returned after the trek.
  • Extra Batteries/Power Bank: For recharging devices in areas without power sources.
  • Charger for Devices: Bring a charger compatible with your devices. It’s essential for keeping your electronics charged throughout the trek.
  • Travel Adapter: Nepal uses plug types C, D, and M. A universal travel adapter that fits these types will ensure you can charge your devices wherever power is available.
  • Bag Covers: Waterproof covers to protect your bags against rain and sno

 

Clothing:
  • Warm and waterproof/hardshell jacket
  • Fleece or softshell jacket
  • Hiking pants and shorts
  • Long-sleeved trekking shirts
  • Thermal underwear
  • Hiking socks
  • Insulated and waterproof gloves or mittens
  • Warm hat and headwear to protect your face and neck from the sun
Footwear:

  • Sturdy and waterproof hiking boots
  • Gaiters to protect your boots and legs from snow, mud, and dirt

Backpack:

  •  Large backpack (50 to 80 liters) with a rain cover
  • Daypack (around 20 liters) to carry essential items during the day

Sleeping and Shelter:

  • Trekking poles with snow baskets
  • Sleeping bag rated for sub-zero temperatures (comfort level)
  • Sleeping pad
  • Headlamp with extra batteries
  • Personal First Aid Kits and medicines

Electronics:

  • Camera and extra batteries
  • Portable chargers for electronic devices
  • Solar-powered chargers (optional)

Others: personal things

Personal choice :

  • Sun screen
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, floss, etc.)
  • Biodegradable bar soap
  • Face/body wipes
  • Biodegradable washing liquid
  • Throat lozenges, lip balm
  • Medications (Ibuprofen, others if necessary) 

– Water bottles/hydration packs and filters or purification tablets
– Lightweight and quick-drying towel.
